The nearest international airport is Calgary, Alberta which is about 1 hours drive away on Highway 2.

Driving directions: Proceed North or South towards Red Deer along highway 2. When you reach Red Deer turn West onto highway 11 (Not highway 11A!). You will quickly come to a Fas Gas station on the right hand side of the road. Turn right here. Follow this road (North) until you come to a four way stop. Turn right at the four way stop and follow the road. It will eventually curve back North. We are about a kilometre up this road on the left hand side.

Job Description: Operations Director

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• have a minimum of 10 years of senior management experience ideally with at least 2 years as a Company Director.

• have at least 10 year’s of manufacturing management experience and 5 years of ‘hands on’ engineering.

• have a minimum of a 3-year full-time degree/diploma in engineering or equivalent.

• have superior verbal and written communication skills in English.

Skills

The Operations Director must be competent in the use of personal computers and software tools such as Windows, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Outlook, Publisher, Project, Visio). Familiarity with CAD or other design and simulation tools is also required. The Operations Director should be a capable public speaker, communicating ideas easily and effectively to diverse audiences. The Operations Director must have experience of facilitating both improvement teams and management meetings effectively. In addition, experience of managing projects on a global basis is desired. The Operations Director must be able to demonstrate the practical application of Kaizen, JIT and lean manufacturing methodologies and the use of QC tools.

The Operations Director must be able to plan, develop and implement operational strategy (covering manufacturing, distribution, administration, accounts, I.T. and field service). Experience in all of the preceding areas is preferred. The Operations Director must be capable of developing financial management reports and appropriate organization measurement systems. The Operations Director should be capable of maintaining the existing ISO9001:2000 accreditation.
