Orbital Energy is dedicated to supplying gas turbines solutions which match our customers requirements. In many cases, gas turbines can provide an effective and economical source of either main power or backup power to businesses. To find out if a gas turbine is suitable for your business, please read the "Basics of buying a turbine" section on the left hand panel.

For example: our ST-18 packages provide approximately 1.8 megawatts of power under normal conditions. This is ample to supply a factory, hotel or office block in cases of sudden grid failure. These self contained units are compact and easily installed by our trained staff. Their fully automated control systems negate the need to have highly qualified operators, making them ideal for emergency power generation.

emergency backup powerWe also supply a wide variety of larger packages which might be more suitable for more demanding applications or for permanent power generation units. These units require more engineering and investment, but consequently provide vastly more capable systems. For example: In joint partnership with Pratt & Whitney we provide FT-8 driven packages that produce 25 megawatts of constant power under ISO conditions. These units can be "chained" together to produce much larger power-plants.

Properly maintained gas turbines can last through many decades of operational life. Many power generation units in the world still run on Rolls-Royce Avon and Olympus engines, and their is still a large demand for these reliable workhorses, due to their proven track record and ease of maintenance.

Orbital Energy sells both new and reconditioned gas turbines and packages, and provides off the shelf and custom control systems (including Oil & Gas, Off-Shore and Nuclear standards). Our trained staff provide all the engineering expertise required to install, operate and maintain gas turbine generating units.

Our gas turbines can be sold individually (usually to replace existing engines of the same type) or as part of a full generating package. These packages are constructed and tested to specification at our Red-Deer (Alberta, Canada) manufacturing facility before being shipped to the customer. We hold a number of refurbished engines in stock..
